Apple have battery problems with some of the new iPhone 4S phones

Or at least Apple hopes it has fixed the battery life problems it was having with some of the new iPhone 4S phones. We noted that there were problems with the life on standby. That Apple were, as a result of that work, pretty sure that it was iOS5 that was the problem. So, in what I would regard as a pretty good and pretty fast piece of work Apple has released an upgrade to iOS5 which they think will cure these problems. You can get the upgrade here;

About iOS 5.0.1 Software Update
This update contains improvements and other bug fixes including:
* Fixes bugs affecting battery life
* Adds Multitasking Gestures for original iPad
* Resolves bugs with Documents in the Cloud
* Improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation
So wait until x.1 , even x.0.1 versions before buying or upgrading.

The iPhone 4S battery-life problem doesn't seem to be fixed in the iOS 5.0.1 patch; some users are even complaining that it's worse than before. Is your iPhone’s battery faring better or worse after Apple’s iOS 5.0.1 update yesterday afternoon? The update Apple’s first offered over the air, direct to phones running iOS 5.0—is supposed to remedy “bugs affecting battery life,” as well as add multitasking gestures for the original iPad, fix a bug with iCloud documents and improve voice recognition for those in Australia who use dictation. “iOS 5.0.1, iPhone 3GS, battery is still draining fast,” reports a third. Hourly mail and calendar check is also draining battery on iOS 5. So this 5.0.1 update is not fixing anything for 3GS user.”
