Spaniard Rafael Nadal, defeated in the final of the tournament in Barcelona, David Ferrer, has won this tournament for the seventh time in his career. Thus, he became the first tennis player to win two tournaments for seven or more times – on his account just 8 wins in Monte Carlo.
In 2005, Nadal won 214 matches on hardcourts, and lost only 8 meetings, reports the official website of the Asia-Pacific region.
It is also worth noting that for 10 years in a row in Barcelona win only Spanish tennis players.
