If you’re a fan of the E-Class lineup’s quad-style headlights, you may want to grab a 2012 model before they disappear. What we see in these photos is the upcoming
2013 Mercedes-Benz E-Class coupe, which receives a face-lift highlighted by a new single-unit headlight design.
We knew the change was coming thanks to previous reports and spy shots, including a
test wagon snapped a few months ago. These photos reveal that most visual changes will take place up front. Benz engineers did an admirable job of disguising the headlights as quad-style units, but a closer inspection reveals a single design with integrated LED daytime running lamps – the current E-Class has LEDs on the lower bumper. The overall front fascia is revamped with a more upright grille and a redesigned bumper. The tester’s side and rear are uncovered, though revised taillights may make it to production.
The 2013 E-Class will sport some changes under the hood as well. The 2013 Mercedes-Benz E350 is expected to get a power boost from the current 302 hp to 333 hp, while the E550 may get a new, more powerful and efficient single-turbo 4.6-liter engine rated at 435 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque (the current 4.7-liter twin-turbo mill produces 402 hp).
