Spied: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been spied testing with a camouflaged front end. Due for a refresh in the 2014 model year, the revised Grand Cherokee is likely to supplement minor exterior updates with improved drivetrain offerings and interior technology.

While the Jeep brand’s signature seven-slot grille remains, the one on the Grand Cherokee prototype appears slimmer than the current model’s grille. Headlight housings seem to be unchanged, but the sheetmetal below the grille now curves upward toward the headlights, instead of stretching straight across the front of the SUV.

We expect to see Chrysler’s Uconnect Touch infotainment system with the 8.4-inch screen on the production-ready versions of the face-lifted SUV, which should also benefit from an available eight-speed automatic transmission. The current, 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a V-6 and five-speed automatic in rear-drive form gets an EPA-rated 17/23 mpg city/highway and one fewer mpg in the city for the four-wheel-drive model.
