Kia has revealed its new three-door Cee’d ahead of its debut at the Paris motor show. The Kia Procee’d is due to reach UK showrooms in spring 2013.
The model now completes the three-strong Cee’d line-up, joining five-door hatchback and estate models.
The design of Kia’s rakish three-door hatchback is significantly sportier than the previous model and Kia says it “features all of the improvements” to the recently-launched five-door Cee’d and Sportwagon estate. That means a more upmarket interior, multi-link rear suspension and a six-speed manual gearbox as standard.
The engine line-up is expected to mirror the five-door Cee’d’s range of 98bhp 1.4 and 133bhp 1.6-litre petrol engines and a 1.6-litre diesel developing 125bhp. Insiders have previously hinted there will be a hot turbocharged 1.6 model at the top of the range with around 200bhp designed to give the three-door Cee’d the performance credibility to match its looks.
