Toyota has revealed the facelifted Verso at the Paris motor show.

The seven-seater's exterior styling has been tweaked to better match Toyota’s current design theme, with a new trapezoidal grille and front bumper, as well as a larger badge and chrome trim detailing.

The headlamps have been restyled and now include LED daytime running lights and optional high-intensity discharge headlights. The profile of the car has also changed slightly, with new door mirrors and a darker look for the 17-inch alloy wheels.

Interior changes include a new satin black paint finish, chrome highlights and optional leather trim. New seat fabrics and designs will be available across the range, with improved side bolster support. A new A-pillar design and better sound damping means wind noise in the cabin has been reduced.

Boot space in the new Verso is 155 litres, expanding to 440 litres with the rear seats folded flat.

The existing 2.0-litre diesel engine has been improved for the new model, with better torque delivery at low revs and a reduction in CO2 emissions, which are now less than 130g/km.

A new 2.2-litre diesel engine will also be available, which produces 175bhp when mated to the six-speed manual gearbox. An optional six-speed automatic gearbox is also available, although power drops to 148bhp.

The 1.6 and 1.8-litre petrol engines are carried over unchanged from the previous Verso.

Toyota has added extra welding points to the body of the new model to improve rigidity and handling, and the suspension has been changed to provide a smoother ride. The electronic power steering has been adapted for better feel and feedback.
