Paris Show 2012 Highlights: 2013 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4

Lamborghini has announced that the latest edition of the Aventador will be the most efficient yet, thanks to new technology on the car.
Firstly, the LP 700-4 uses a start-stop system which can restart the engine in 180 milliseconds. The system uses high-performance capacitors to provide the V12’s full power output upon restart.
Improving efficiency further is a new cylinder deactivation system. When travelling under 84mph, with a low load on the engine, six of the cylinders turn off, meaning the engine runs as a straight-six.
Lamborghini says that “just the slightest movement” of the accelerator pedal brings the full 700bhp V12 back online.
The result of these improvements is a CO2 emissions drop from 398g/km to 370g/km, and average fuel consumption rises to 18mpg.
Other improvements to the latest Aventador include stiffer springs and optimised dampers for better handling, new optional alloy wheels, and an optional CFRP pack, which adds carbonfibre effects on the front spoiler, air intakes, engine cover panel and interior trim.
